Arguably the most impressive win of the pre-Bowden era was actually a tie. The year was 1967 and FSU had lost its opener to Houston in the Astrodome. Next up was Alabama, riding a 21-game win streak. Oddsmakers thought Bear Bryant could name the score. Instead, the Bear was embarrassed as FSU scored more points than Bama gave up the entire previous season.
Here's the story in sound, as told by FSU players who shocked the college football universe that night at Birmingham's Legion Field. You'll also hear some original radio play-by-play, with Kim Hammond and company driving the field to knot the score. As a bonus, an FSU grad has this first-hand account of being there for that unforgettable moment in Florida State Football (part of our original story on the game).
