RIP Major Billy Smith, 1931-2012

We ourn the passing of Billy Smith this morning, RIP.

The coaches have changed, the helmets have changed, Sammy Seminole is gone but the one constant in Florida State football for forty-six years has been Smitty. For those players from the sixties and early seventies he is the face of Seminole football.

I am glad he will be back... there will be some remaining tradition to hold on to.
